- Important Notice: Introduction of VAT component on charges at the Visa Application Centre
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) has announced the introduction of VAT (Value Added Tax) effective Monday, 01 January 2018, at a standard rate of 5%. VAT will be collected on the supply of services in KSA, wherever applicable.
In accordance with the new VAT Law, VFS Global will be required to charge and collect VAT on certain services and pay it to the General Authority of Zakat and Tax (GAZT). VAT is a consumption tax that end users shall pay and VFS Global will be only acting as a collection agent on behalf of the taxation authority.

NON-EEA NATIONAL FAMILY APPLICATIONS
Following a Supreme Court judgment in February the Home Office paused decision-making on some family applications. In particular, those failing to meet the minimum income threshold for British citizens sponsoring a non-EEA partner and non-EEA children.
The Immigration Rules will be changed on 10 August to reflect this ruling. Applications which were paused will be considered from that date.

- July 2014: From 07 July 2014, parents will need to book an appointment at the visa application centre for any children under the age of 5 when applying for a UK visa.
This is to allow a photo to be taken of the child’s face.
- Special working hours in Ramadan - 21:00 – 23:00 (only in Riyadh and by appointment only). Kindly note only male staff will be available during this time period.
