Visa Application Centre

Please note:

Applicants will pay a £55 fee to use the Osaka VAC in addition to their visa application fee. The fee applies to all applications submitted and paid for after midnight (UK time) on 1 September 2015.This fee must be paid online on the AccessUK website at the time of paying your visa application fee. You do not have to pay this fee to visit this Application Centre if you are exempt from the visa application fee.

For security reasons we cannot allow applicant's friends, relatives or other associates into the visa application centre. Applicants who have a disability or who are physically challenged are permitted to bring somebody to assist them.

Every applicant who is submitting a visa application must attend the visa application centre in person. Children less than 5 years need to attend, but are not require to provide their biometric data. Children less than 18 years need to be accompanied by an adult and this cannot be a member of VFS staff.

All visitors to the Visa Application Centre are requested to present an official photo identification (original).

From JR Shimbashi Station

  • From Karasumori Exit, go left and walk along the rail road to Daiichi-Keihin Ave.
  • Walk along Daiichi-Keihin Ave towards Hamamatsu-Cho, cross Kanni Ave and keep
    along Daiichi-Keihin to the intersection Shinbashi5.
  • Cross Daiichi-Keihin Ave at the intersection Shinbashi5.
  • Go 1 block ahead from the crossing. We are on the 4th floor of the building with a
    Family Mart on the first floor.

From Shiodome Station

  1. From Exit 8(Oedo Line)/ West Gate (Yurikamome Line), go along the road in the same direction as the exit.
  2. Without crossing any roads, keep along the road and pass under the rail road.
  3. You will find a Family Mart to the second building on your right. We are on the 4th floor of the building.

From Subway "Matsuyamachi" station

  1. From 1st. exit, go straight (2 min)
  2. Cross a bridge in front of you and you will find a Repro Minami-senba building on your right. We are on the 10th floor of the building.

From Subway "Nagahoribashi" station

  1. From 1st. exit, go left and along the road(5min).
  2. Go 4 blocks ahead from the exit and you will find a Repro Minami-senba building. We are on the 10th floor of the building.

Question and answer sessions every Friday in Tokyo

Every Friday between 15:00 to 17:00 UK Visas and Immigration officer in Japan will be in the VFS Global Visa Application Centre in Tokyo to answer questions on Representative of an Overseas Business and Tiers 1, 2, 4 and 5 points based system visa applications (excluding the Youth Mobility Scheme). Each individual will be allocated a 15 minute time-slot to discuss and clarify the guidance relating to their applications. Visa application forms and documents cannot be pre-assessed or completed in these sessions. The UK Visas and Immigration in Japan officer cannot guarantee the outcome of your visa application; assessment will take place after you submit your application. To make an appointment, please contact the VFS Global email address with your name, contact number (preferably your mobile phone number) and the official name of a visa category you are applying for. Please be advised that we may require 2-3 business days to reply.

User pay services

We offer a range of optional additional services to help you with your visa application. To use them, you will need to pay an extra fee in addition to the visa application fee.

Customers with disabilities

All visa application centres have step-free access for wheelchairs. Applicants who have a disability or who have accessibility requirements are encouraged to bring someone to assist them. Lifts are also accessible for use where necessary. Please note that VFS Global staff will be available to assist any applicant with special needs.

Security information

Please note that access to the visa application centre is restricted to visa applicants only. The only exceptions to this policy are:

  • Children less than 18 years of age need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian. This cannot be a member of the visa application centre staff.
  • Elderly, medically infirm or disabled applicants who require assistance in order to submit their applications. Applicants who fall into these categories should advise the security staff on arrival at the VAC. 

Mobile phones and Tablets are permitted in the visa application centre, but they must be switched to silent or vibrate mode. They should be switched on before entering the VAC. Devices that cannot be switched on cannot be taken into the visa application centre.

Under no circumstances is photography, filming or audio recording permitted. Mobile phones have to be put away when you are dealing with our staff.

Only one airline cabin size bag 55 cm x 35 cm x 20 cm  alternatively 21.5” x 13.5” x 8" per applicant is permitted in the VAC. Larger bags cannot be taken into the visa application centre and must be stored elsewhere.

All items may be subjected to a security check.

For security reasons the following items will not be permitted inside the visa application centre.   

  • All battery operated or electronic items such cameras, audio/video cassettes, compact discs, MP3s, floppies, laptops, or portable music players ,hard disk drive (HDDs), pen/thumb drives, spy devices, audio recorders, or other devices which can hinder the centre’s functioning
  • Sealed envelopes or packages.
  • Any inflammable item such as matchboxes/ lighters/ electric cigarettes /fuel.
  • Any sharp objects such as scissors, pen knives or nail filers.
  • Weapons, weapon - like objects or explosive material of any kind.

Other items may be prohibited based on security staff discretion.

Please note: The visa application centre is unable to store prohibited items. Applicants should make other arrangements to store their belongings before they enter the visa application centre.

More importantly, please note: There is no nursing area/room for babies in the visa application centre or in the building.

Data Protection Act

The Data Protection Act prevents UK Visas and Immigration and VFS Global from providing information about an application to anybody other than the individual visa applicant or their authorised representative.
