  • Am I eligible for a refund after I have taken an overseas citizenship application appointment?

    No, once the applicant takes appointment, then you will not be able to initiate refund from the online application. You need to cancel the appointment in order to get the refund initiated from online OR have the refund request initiated from the VAC.

  • How do I change the VAC location for submitting my biometrics for overseas citizenship application?

    Login with the registered credentials, click on ‘Manage my account’ link. This will allow you to edit your country or residence and preferred visa application Centre location. This option will allow you to create a new application with the same login credentials but for a different location.

    Only the new applications created after making the change will be created with new VAC location and Country. The existing applications will not get affected.

  • How do I reschedule or cancel my appointment for overseas citizenship application?

    Login with the registered credentials, click on ‘My Application’ link. Select Re-schedule Appointment option from the Quick Link menu.

    You can reschedule or cancel your appointment any time prior to 24hours of your booked appointment time.

  • Who are we?

    VFS Global is a commercial company, working in partnership with UK Visas and Immigration in South Korea providing support services to people applying for a visa to enter the United Kingdom (UK).

  • What does VFS Global do?

    VFS Global manages visa application centre in Seoul for UK Visas and Immigration here in South Korea, where you should submit your completed visa application form, supporting documents and biometric data.   • Who decides if I will get a visa?

    Your visa application will be processed and decided by UK Visas and Immigration staff. VFS Global staff does not, play any part in or influence the outcome of your visa application. If VFS Global staff claims to be able to influence your application, you should notify in writing to the Head of Visa Services at the British Embassy in Manila.   • What will happen when you attend your appointment?

    When you attend your appointment, you:
    Should arrive 15 minutes before your appointment(Applicants who are appointed at 08:00 may visit the centre on time as we open the centre at 08:00),
    Security check will be done by a guard at the centre.(please click here for security information.),
    Submit application and provide your biometric data.

    Note: If you arrive at the centre later than your appointment time, you will need to reschedule your appointment.

  • What should I bring with me?

    When you attend your appointment, you should bring -

    • Appointment confirmation letter to visit the visa application centre (This can be an electronic copy on your phone, tablet or a hard copy)   
    • Curent valid passport or travel document. Old passport(s) if available.
    • All supporting documents and supplementary forms, if any (please ensure documents are removed from any bulky folders such as ring binders as these cannot be accepted as part of your application)
    • Payment receipts for any pre purchased user pay services
    • TB (Tuberculosis) test certificate (please refer to the FAQ below for more details.)

    Your passport must contain at least 1 blank page back to back so that the visa can be inserted. You are not legally required to have 6 months validity on your passport at the time you apply for your visa but your passport must be valid at the time you apply and at the time you arrive in the UK.

  • How much does it cost to submit the application?

  • Who needs to be tested for Tuberculosis?

    From 31 December 2013, residents of South Korea who wish to come to the UK for more than 6 months must be tested for tuberculosis (TB) before applying for a visa. If you submit an application in South Korea on or after 31 December 2013, you will need to take a TB test if you are applying to come to the UK for 6 months or longer.   • Should children come to the VFS Global visa application centre for applying for a visa?

    Every applicant who is submitting a visa application must attend the visa application centre in person. Children less than 5 years also need to attend. They are not required to provide their biometric data but need to take a digital photo at the centre. Children less than 18 years need to be accompanied by an adult and this cannot be a member of VFS Global staff.

  • How long will it take to process my application by UK Visas and Immigration?

    This depends on the category of visa application, but UK Visas and Immigration aims to return 90% of non-settlement visa applications within 3 weeks. UK visas and immigration cannot guarantee the outcome or the length of time an application takes to process; neither can it guarantee the return of passport and documents within a certain timeframe. This is due to the fact that visa applications are assessed individually and individual circumstances may vary and result in longer decision times. Therefore you are requested to wait until a decision on the application is taken since VFS Global does not have any control over the processing times.   • What are the security procedures that I have to undergo in the VFS Global visa application centre?

    Mobile phones and Tablets are permitted in the visa application centre, but they must be switched to silent or vibrate mode.  They should be switched on before entering the VAC. Devices that cannot be switched on cannot be taken into the visa application centre.

    Under no circumstances is photography, filming or audio recording permitted.  Mobile phones have to be put away when you are dealing with our staff.  

    Only one airline cabin size bag  55 cm x 35 cm x 20 cm  alternatively  21.5” x 13.5” x 8" per applicant is permitted in the VAC . Larger bags cannot be taken into the visa application centre and must be stored elsewhere.

    For security reasons the following items will not be permitted inside the visa application centre or stored on the premises.

    • All battery operated or electronic items such as cameras, audio/video cassettes, compact discs, MP3s, laptops, or portable music players.
    • All bags such as travel bags, back packs, briefcases, suitcases, leather, jute or cloth bags and zip folders. Only a plastic bag containing your application and related papers will be permitted.
    • Sealed envelopes or packages.
    • Any inflammable item such as matchboxes/ lighters/ fuel.
    • Any sharp objects such as scissors, pen knives or nail filers.
    • Weapons or weapon - like objects or explosive material of any kind.

    Other items may be prohibited based on security staff discretion.

    For applicants’ convenience, we offer a locker facility near our centre. Applicants can store the prohibited items before they enter the visa application centre. The security guard at the entrance of the visa centre will guide you where to store your belongings if needed. The service fee is KRW 3,000.
