Additional services (also known as ‘User Pay services’)

We offer a range of optional additional services to help you with your visa application. To use them, you will need to pay an additional fee in addition to the visa application fee.

You may opt for Value Added Services (optional) during the submission process. There are 2 options for the mode of payment for these services – Online Payment on the following link: https://www.vfsglobal.co.uk/ShoppingCart/Pages/Authorization.aspx (print the confirmation payment receipt) or ‘CASH’ payment accepted at the Visa Application Centre.

Temporary Enrolment Location (TEL) Service - Sabah and Sarawak


TEL Service is a versatile and optional service which allows applicants to submit their UK visa application and biometric data using the facilities at Sabah and Sarawak. Applicants who choose to submit their visa applications in Sabah & Sarawak are required to pay an additional fee of £55, along with the visa application fee.

The £55 fee covers the TEL fee and the courier shipments back to your preferred mailing address.

The TEL fee is not refundable, if the visa application is refused.

The TEL service uses the Home Office’s mobile Biometric Enrolment System (BES) equipment to collect biometric data (finger scans and digital photograph). This service is delivered by the Home Office’s commercial partner, VFS Global.

The TEL service is an optional service for UK visa applicants in East Malaysia over the busy summer and other busy periods during the year. Applicants who choose to use the service will not have to travel to Kuala Lumpur to submit their UK visa application and biometric data (finger scans and digital photograph). Instead, they can complete the visa application process at one of our clinics in Kuching or Kota Kinabalu and have their documents returned via courier.

Applicants who do not wish to pay for the service can still submit their application at the visa application centre in Kuala Lumpur at no additional charge. Applicants who do wish to use the TEL service will need to book an appointment at one of the venues below on the specified dates.

UK Visas and Immigration aims to process 90% of non-settlement visa applications, including those received via the visa application service within 15 working days. Our 5 working day priority visa service is also available to eligible customers using the visa application service.

Please note that applications collected from the visa application service will be processed on the next working day (for example, an application collected on Friday or Saturday will be processed at VFS Global on Monday and then sent to Manila on Monday itself ). An additional 2 days are required to courier the passport back to the applicant.

Customers with disabilities

Kuala Lumpur visa application centre have step-free access for wheelchairs. Applicants who have a disability or who have accessibility requirements are encouraged to bring someone to assist them. Lifts are also accessible for use where necessary. Please note that VFS Global staff will be available to assist any applicant with special needs.

Security information

Please note that access to the visa application centre is restricted to visa applicants only. The only exceptions to this policy are:

  • Children less than 18 years of age need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian. This cannot be a member of the visa application centre staff.
  • Elderly, medically infirm or disabled applicants who require assistance in order to submit their applications. Applicants who fall into these categories should advise the security staff on arrival at the VAC.

Mobile phones are permitted in the visa application centre, but they must be switched to silent or vibrate mode. They should be switched on before entering the VAC. Devices that cannot be switched on cannot be taken into the visa application centre.

Under no circumstances is photography, filming or audio recording permitted. Mobile phones have to be put away when you are dealing with our staff.

Only one airline cabin size bag 45 cm x 30 cm x 20 cm (18” x 12” x 8”) per applicant is permitted in the VAC . Larger bags cannot be taken into the visa application centre and must be stored elsewhere.

For security reasons the following items will not be permitted inside the visa application centre.

  • All battery operated or electronic items such cameras, tablets, audio/video cassettes, compact discs, MP3s, floppies, laptops, or portable music players ,hard disk drive (HDDs), pen/thumb drives, spy devices, audio recorders, or other devices which can hinder the centre’s functioning
  • Sealed envelopes or packages.
  • Any inflammable item such as matchboxes/ lighters/ electric cigarettes /fuel.
  • Any sharp objects such as scissors, pen knives or nail filers.
  • Weapons, weapon - like objects or explosive material of any kind.

Other items may be prohibited based on security staff discretion.

Please note: The visa application centre is unable to store prohibited items. Applicants should make other arrangements to store these belongings before they enter the visa application centre.

Cloaking facility

Applicants who may wish to store larger bags and personal belongings before entering the visa application centre may store their personal belongings at the locker facility area located at the 19th floor (upon entrance to security frisking area). No weapons/weapon like objects or explosive materials can be stored in this facility.

This facility is entirely optional and applicants can choose to store their belongings elsewhere.

Data Protection Act

The Data Protection Act prevents UK visas and immigration and VFS Global from providing information about an application to anybody other than the individual visa applicant or their authorised representative.
