In Suriname

VFS Global operates Visa Application Centres (VACs) on behalf of the UK Government in the Americas region.

There are currently no scheduled Tels in Paramaribo, Suriname for 2016.

For those UK visa applicants based in Suriname, your nearest designated regularly held UK visa application centre (VAC) is located in Georgetown, Guyana. You may, however, elect to apply at any UK VAC in the region, if this is more convenient for you. Please visit website www.vfsglobal.co.uk/global for more information on other UK VACs in the Americas. To apply for a visa to enter the United Kingdom, please click here.

Frequently Asked Questions about the Temporary Application Centre in Suriname What services will the clinic provide?

The clinic will offer biometric enrolment and access to courier services. Applicants for UK visas who attend an appointment can have their biometric data (fingerprints, photographs) taken and will have the opportunity to submit their application and supporting documentation to UKVI.

How much does the clinic cost?

Applicants wishing to make an appointment at the clinic will be required to pay a service fee of GBP 55 in addition to the cost of their visa application fee. This fee must be paid online prior to arriving for your appointment in Suriname with a credit or debit card on the VFS online payment gateway. Please be aware that there will be no facility at the clinic to submit payment. As such, please be sure to make your payment online before attending the Tel  and to bring a print-out of your receipt with you for your appointment. To make your payment now, please click here.

Why is the clinic in Suriname comparatively more expensive than that in neighbouring locations, e.g. Guyana?

In response to requests from Suriname based visa applicants, this clinic is being operated by our commercial partner VFS Global, rather than as part of UK Visas and Immigration’s mandated footprint. Relatively low volumes of projected demand mean that a clinic in Suriname would not usually be commercially viable and so this Temporary Visa Application Centre is being operated on an exceptional basis. We have worked to keep the cost to the customer to a minimum and the service fee enables us to recover the costs associated with transportation of equipment, staffing, accommodating and operating the clinic. It is anticipated that the cost of attending this clinic will represent a significant cost and time saving for applicants who previously had to travel to Guyana to submit their biometrics.

Visa Application Centre Service Fee
